How we decide on a rating

How we decide on a rating

April 1, 2026 · Marek Novák

People ask what a 4.3 actually means on our site, so here's the honest answer: it's a judgment call, not a formula. But it's an informed one, built from the same set of questions every time.

We ask whether the game respects your time, whether the controls feel trustworthy, how it treats your battery, and whether we still wanted to open it a week later. That last one is the real test.

We deliberately don't grade on graphics alone. A gorgeous game with sloppy controls will score lower than a plain one that plays beautifully, because on a phone, feel wins.

Scores can change. If an update fixes a problem we flagged or introduces a new one, we go back and adjust, and we note the date so you know how fresh our take is.
